After such a great meal at the original Ubud outlet, we were keen to check out the Seminyak outlet, just to see if it matches up.  It also seemed like a good place to catch up with an Aussie schoolmate of mine who was in Bali the same time as us.

They have tried to keep the feel of the Ubud outlet…which is great.  They did add some little touristy touches which was cute.  The famous Naughty Nuri’s painting is at the Seminyak outlet.  (I did wonder where the picture was when I was at the Ubud outlet. heh!) Great picture, almost tempted to purchase it.  but at US$250…I thought it was a little extravagant.

We ordered a serving of the pork ribs each and the porn corn that everyone has been raving about.  First the ribs…, the portion is definitely bigger than the ones in Ubud (for the same price), and the marinade is very close to the Ubud outlet, but this had a bit more spice and a little less tang to it.  Still nicely done.  Moist with just the right amount of smokiness.

The porn corn is essentially bbqed corn on the cob.  I have been meaning to try this, but I was a little concerned trying it from the roadside stalls, glad I got to try it at Nuri’s.  It was good, but I wish it had a bit more char to it.

I ordered one of their famous cocktails, a lime margarita, and was pleasantly surprised at the little showmanship it comes with!  The waitress comes up to your table, and does a little “shake shake shake” dance with the cocktail shaker before serving the drink.  AWESOME!

Service is definitely friendlier at the Seminyak outlet.  My galfriend was trying to juggle the ribs and carrying her infant.  The kind lady (who i think owns the seminyak outlet), Annie, approached my galfriend and volunteered to help care for the infant so that she could enjoy her meal.  Annie, took the infant for over half an hour!  That is mighty kind.  Great service.

The staff all had a smile on their face, and they were very attentive.  Thumbs up.  Overall, the experience was different to the Ubud branch.  Both have their charm.
